IT Applications Administrator

IT Applications Administrator:
Loudoun Water has an immediate opening for a full-time Information Technology Applications Administrator. This individual will be responsible for administering, managing, and maintaining a variety of business management applications and databases. Typical duties will include providing standard IT software applications life cycle support (development of requirements, documentation of processes, assistance with development, testing, implementation, upgrades, and production support); providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 helpdesk support, interacting extensively with Loudoun Water business units; providing training; researching, evaluating, and assessing new software products and tools; maintaining interfaces and data flows between software applications; managing vendors; managing assets (primarily software licenses); developing reports; writing scripts and minor applications; administering SQL databases; managing and resolving trouble tickets; and working off hours when needed.
Demonstrated ability to:
Perform business application administration and life cycle application management
Work with users to document business processes and suggest process improvements
Manage tasks and small projects
Use application APIs and web services
Maintain and update content for websites
Develop reports using Crystal Reports
Write and modify SQL queries and T-SQL scripts
Use SQL Server 2005/2008 database management tools (DBA-level skill/certification not required)
Apply IT industry standards, theories, concepts, and practices
Experience with Hewlett-Packard’s TRIM application and electronic records management a plus but not required. Experience with MS-SharePoint, IIS, XML, HTML, AJAX, Web 2.0, SQL Reporting Services, database design theory and best management practices also a plus, but not required. Must be self-motivated, able to communicate effectively, able to work in a team-oriented environment, and able to learn and apply new technologies to existing processes.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, MIS, CS, or related field; minimum 4 years experience with progressive responsibility in IT applications administration.
