BRWRF TECHNOLOGY |

The Broad Run WRF will employ state-of-the-art technology to remove pollutants and nutrients to extremely low levels. One of the unique technologies being used is synthetic membranes to maximize the effectiveness of the biological nutrient removal process. These membranes separate out the microorganisms that are working to remove the pollutants from the water. This process is referred to as a membrane bioreactor. A downstream activated carbon filter and ultraviolet disinfection process complete the cleaning steps before the water is aerated and released back into the environment.
