NEW LOUDOUN WATER RATES, FEES, CHARGES TAKE EFFECT JULY 1

Ashburn, Virginia, July 1: Several new rates, fees and charges for Loudoun Water services go into effect July 1, 2011. Following a public hearing held in May, Loudoun Water’s Board of Directors adopted several changes to its water and wastewater rates, fees and charges applicable to all of its customers.
The rates slated to be effective July 1, 2011 affect the following:
Availability Charge – Water
Availability Charge – Wastewater
Field Visits
Cross Connection/Backflow Prevention Charge
Fire Hydrant Special Use Fee
Hydrant Flow Test Fee
Inspection Fees
Local Facilities Charge – Water and Wastewater
Hauled Waste
Details on all the new rates and charges were available in a Public Notice which was advertised for two weeks in the Loudoun Times-Mirror and The Leesburg Today, and they were posted the Loudoun Water homepage. A public hearing was held on May 26, 2011 and comments made during the session were reviewed and considered by the Loudoun Water Board of Directors. The changes were approved at Loudoun Water’s June 9, 2011 board meeting.
