Construction to Begin on Interconnection between Selma Estates, Raspberry Falls
Dear Raspberry Falls and Selma Estates Residents:
As part of our continuing effort to keep you informed about developments concerning your drinking water system, Loudoun Water would like to update you about a construction project slated to begin next week.
Construction will start Monday, March 14thon an interconnection between the Raspberry Falls and the Selma Estates drinking water systems. This project is designed to provide Raspberry Falls with an interim, auxiliary back-up connection. The interconnection is not intended to supply Raspberry Falls on a permanent basis, only on a contingency basis.
The project involves the installation of approximately 750 linear feet of ductile iron pipe and appropriate appurtenances that will connect the water main at the end of Garriland Drive in Selma Estates with the water main at the end of Hunter Place in Raspberry Falls. Residents on these streets can expect to see construction work taking place over the course of the next six to eight weeks. A few homes close to Garriland Drive will have their service affected for a brief period of time. Loudoun Water has coordinated its efforts with the affected residents in order to lessen the inconvenience. There will not be any other impact on water service in either community while the construction work is being conducted.
We have also coordinated our construction to coincide with work being performed by the staff of the golf course to ensure that any disruption to the course’s operations is kept to a minimum. The contractor and the golf course will restore all disturbed areas to their original condition or better.
We will continue to provide you with updates on our progress both via email and on your respective community system webpages.
Sincerely,
Loudoun Water
