Talks and Tours

If you would like to hear a talk on water or tour our Aquiary, you've come to the right place. A Loudoun Water representative can talk with your group about water supply, water quality, water reclamation, drinking water treatment, water stewardship or all of the above. You pick the subject matter and the time allotment and we'll provide an active-learning presentation that's appropriate for your group or grade level 3rd grade and up. Contact the Manager of Communications at 571.291.7700.

Or, stop by our Aquiary during regular business hours Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00 for a self-guided tour of our water exhibits. We can also schedule guided Aquiary tours for your school or group or you can host your meeting at our facilities for free. Call 571.291.7700 or fill out our online form. Due to the advanced subject of water reclamation, guided tours work best for children 8 and up.

The Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility is not open to the public for tours for security reasons, and frankly, it's not very exciting to see since we've covered all the processes in order to control the odors. Plus, the Aquiary shows you everything that's happening inside the reclamation facility in full color, interactive detail, and no smell!

Tours from our suppliers' treatment plants can be arranged by contacting our suppliers directly.

  • Call 703.550.9740 for tours of Fairfax County’s wastewater plant in Lorton.

If you're interested in an outdoor activity that you can do on your own, come see our interpretive trails, which are open to the public 24/7 or visit Sully Elementary's Discovery Park in Sterling. Discovery Park is a community built playground that incorporates learning with fun. Loudoun Water donated a water wall to the playground that depicts the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The playground is open to the public after school and on weekends.
