For most of our customers, the source for your tap water is the Potomac River through a purchase agreement we have with Fairfax Water and Goose Creek in Ashburn, through a purchase agreement with the City of Fairfax. Beaverdam Creek Reservoir, also in Ashburn, holds 1.3 billion gallons of water and is routinely tapped to maintain flows in Goose Creek. An additional 9.3 million gallons of water is stored in 4 water tanks.

A small percentage of our customers who live within a hamlet or village are served by groundwater, through one of our self-sustaining Community Systems wells and treatment facilities.
