Everyone in Loudoun has a role in protecting Loudoun's streams - not just for drinking water but for healthy habitats, too. Loudoun Water is a partner of The Loudoun Watershed Watch
, an organization devoted to educating Loudoun residents about our local waters and providing them with opportunities to help monitor them.
Kids and parents are encouraged to join the Watershed Watch or at least join Loudoun Water and the other Watershed partners for fun with water at its annual Family Stream Day, held every year in October. More than 200 students and parents usually attend this fun, educational event.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Family Stream Day Contest!
Beaverdam Reservoir Clean Up Day 2007
View photos from our clean up effort of the Beaverdam Reservoir. About 45-50 volunteers came out on October 14 to take advantage of the low water levels to clean up debris that would normally be under water. Employees from Loudoun Water, CH2MHill, CDM, volunteers from Loudoun Cares and other community members picked up about 1.5 tons of trash, including 24 tires and enough metal to build a car. Thanks to everyone who helped out!
