Laboratory: Essential functions include:
- Assist in receipt and the analysis of samples for physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses.
- Coordinate with chemical and equipment inventory and maintenance.
- Perform and maintain good laboratory practices, housekeeping and safety procedures.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Planning & Water Resources: Essential Functions include:
- Work directly with staff to perform work related to water supply, water quality, research, data analytics, water distribution, wastewater collection and planning.
- Assist staff in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data to determine water quality and quantity impacts related to distribution and treatment operations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a research project portfolio for the organization.
- Expected to coordinate with staff to achieve project goals and expand their professional experience.
Field Services - Essential functions include:
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Documenting and inspecting meter crocks for repair.
- Replacing meters and radios in the field.
- Assisting Field Services with various tasks include but not limited to non-payment turn offs, cleaning Loudoun Water buildings and vehicles and other manual work as needed.
Water Operations (Plant Engineering) - The ideal candidate should have completed a minimum of two years of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field, and have an interest in drinking water treatment and water distribution systems. Essential functions include:
- Review and interpret regulations, record drawings, GIS, and other technical information to support water operations.
- Perform field and lab work troubleshooting issues and collecting and analyzing water samples.
- Provide support reviewing and responding to deliverables, submittals, and project communication.
- Compile and analyze data using Microsoft Office programs or other statistical software.
