Loudoun Water only accepts domestic septage, chemical toilet waste and wastewater treatment plant sludge that are generated in Loudoun County and comply with all local discharge standards. Septic and wastewater treatment plant sludge haulers must hold a current Hauled Waste Discharge Permit to use the Septage Receiving Station. To obtain a Hauled Waste Discharge Permit, haulers must send a request to pretreatment@loudounwater.org. A link to the DocuSign application with instructions will be provided via email.

Hauled Septic and Domestic Waste Fee
Loudoun Water issues permit to firms licensed by Loudoun County to haul septic tank waste and other domestic wastes to the septage receiving station found at the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility. In addition to an annual permit fee of $750, the following charges apply:
< 1,000 gallons $45.00
1,001 – 2,000 gallons $90.00
2,001 – 3,000 gallons $135.00
3,001 – 4,000 gallons $180.00
4,001 – 5,000 gallons $225.00
5,001 – 6,000 gallons $270.00
6,001 – 7,000 gallons $315.00
*Loads beyond 7,000 gallons cannot be accepted due to the capacity of the receiving facilities.
**Loads in excess of 4,000 gallons may be restricted to a schedule to be determined by the Broad Run operations staff.
***Rates are applied to the maximum volume capacity of the tanker.
Hauled Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludges
Loudoun Water issues acceptance letters to independent wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) systems as an approved sludge acceptance facility. WWTP must self-perform delivery, or contract with a firm licensed by Loudoun County to haul WWTP sludges to the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility. In addition to an annual permit fee of $750, the following charges apply:
< 1,000 gallons $60.00
1,001 – 2,000 gallons $120.00
2,001 – 3,000 gallons $180.00
3,001 – 4,000 gallons $240.00
4,001 – 5,000 gallons $300.00
5,001 – 6,000 gallons $360.00
6,001 – 7,000 gallons $420.00
*Loads beyond 7,000 gallons cannot be accepted due to the capacity of the receiving facilities.
**Loads more than 4,000 gallons may be restricted to a schedule to be decided by the Broad Run operations staff.
