Project Status In Construction Purpose: The treatment plant upgrades are required to meet Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) regulatory requirements for ammonia removal from wastewater. For more information, you can view the Project Fact Sheet.The project includes decommissioning the existing lagoons and replacing them with a new wastewater treatment plant that includes primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes to treat wastewater from the Village of Waterford. The new wastewater treatment plant will beenclosed in a building designed to match the surrounding architecture.
